Impetigo is a common and very contagious skin infection that causes red sores or blisters, often around the nose and mouth, which crust over as they dry. It needs treating to clear it up and stop it spreading.
Through the NHS Pharmacy First service our pharmacist can assess the affected skin and supply treatment where it is appropriate, for anyone aged 1 and over. No GP appointment or referral is needed. We will also explain how to stop it spreading at home or at school. Appointments are free on the NHS and usually available the same day.
