Pharmacy First lets you see a pharmacist for seven common conditions without a GP referral: sore throat, earache, sinusitis, urinary tract infection, shingles, impetigo and infected insect bites. Appointments are free on the NHS and usually available the same day.
Your pharmacist will ask about your symptoms, carry out a short assessment in a private consultation room and, where appropriate, supply treatment including antibiotics. Age and eligibility criteria apply to each condition. If the pharmacist thinks you need further care, they will refer you to the right place.
